King of the Road

Martine and I share our exhilarating experiences from our 43,000-mile journey on our cherished Road King Classic in our blog. Our travels have taken us to remarkable destinations such as Sturgis, North Dakota; Banff, Canada; the picturesque California coast; and the breathtaking Sierra Nevada and Yosemite regions. Among our most cherished routes are those in Shasta County, close to Burney Falls.

We are fortunate to reside in what we fondly call "Harley Heaven," with Lake Tahoe just an hour's ride away. However, navigating the bustling roads around the Lake and Truckee can sometimes dampen the excitement. To truly enjoy our adventures, we ride alongside my high school buddies, following a straightforward set of group-riding principles. We make no prior reservations and determine when to end our day on the road as a group.

Our ideal lodging is within walking distance of a bar and breakfast spot, with a hot tub as an added bonus. When faced with a junction, we collectively decide which way to go. A typical day covers around 300 miles, and we cherish the unparalleled freedom that the open road offers, despite the inherent risks. We ride as a unified group, confident in our deer whistle's effectiveness, which allows us to lead the way.
