World Famous Burney Falls!

Teddy Roosevelt was the youngest president (age 42), and he loved nature, prioritized conservation, and established national parks, forests, and monuments to preserve the nation's natural resources.

When he visited Burney Falls, he proclaimed that it was the 8th Wonder of the World. It is not the largest or highest waterfall. It is the most consistent, with 100 million gallons every day. The water flows through small lava tubes that act as a baffle. The snow melt from nearby Mt Shasta, Lassen and Burney Mountain begins the flow to the sea in the Pit River Valley. This is where the water begins!

Rocky Ledge Estates is only minutes away from the state park entrance when you drive your car and our guest can access the Shasta Trinity National Forest directly from their estate and ride a horse there! Or drive a jeep or motorcycle, or mountain bike.
